Beyond the Craft: Process Art Experiences for Young Children (Anderson)

  • Ivy Tech Anderson 60th Street Campus 315 E 60th St Anderson, IN United States (map)

Process art invites children to explore, experiment, and create in ways that celebrate curiosity, creativity, and individual expression. In this course, participants will learn how to design developmentally appropriate process art experiences that encourage exploration, problem-solving, sensory discovery, and creative thinking while supporting all domains of children's development.

Participants will explore the characteristics of high-quality process art, differentiate process art from product-focused activities, and learn intentional teaching strategies that foster creativity, language development, fine motor skills, and self-expression. Through reflective practice, participants will evaluate classroom art environments, design engaging invitations to create, and develop an action plan to enhance process art opportunities that inspire every child to become a confident creator.  This is a hands-on training and participants will receive related instructional materials to take back to use in their own educational environments.

Instructors: Emma Dragoo and Dustin McRohrer
