Providing County-Wide Support

Nearly 1,600 to 2,400 children in Delaware County are currently in need of diapers, according to poverty and ALICE estimates. That’s up to 50 percent of diaper-aged children in our community.

To address the overwhelming need for diapers within Delaware County, BY5 started the Diaper Bank Task Force in January 2018. This group of community leaders, professionals, and existing diaper bank representatives works to increase the amount of free diapers available to families through the Diaper Bank of Delaware County, a cohesive county-wide system of supported diaper banks.

The Diaper Bank of Delaware County currently has 10 diaper banks located throughout the county. Since September 2018, these diaper banks have distributed more than 18,000 free diapers to families in need.
